Sashay Dance specialises in fun Salsa, Latin and Ballroom dance classes for events in the Yorkshire area (Leeds, York, Harrogate, Sheffield, Wakefield and Huddersfield) and our mission is to give everyone something to dance about. We are delighted to have partnered up with The Breast Cancer Haven, Yorkshire which is located in Leeds city centre.
Breast Cancer Haven is a national charity offering free emotional, physical and practical support to anyone affected by breast cancer from its centres across the country. The Haven offers a wide range of weekly classes for their visitors and every Friday from 8th September 2017 15.00-16.00 we will be doing our weekly Sashay Latin Line dance classes. The class will be a lot of fun where participants will learn the basics from all of the Latin and Ballroom dances as seen on Strictly Come Dancing. The classes are 2 left feet friendly, suitable for all and no partner is required, as we’ll be dancing solo in a line. Dancing is so much fun, a great way to keep active, meet new friends and there’s a lot of health benefits too.
Sarah Hough, Director and Founder of Sashay Dance teaches for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation and recently worked with them on their Cancer Rehabilitation Programme with Yorkshire Cancer Research, it was through that group her classes were recommended to The Haven. During this time she learnt that most people stop exercise once diagnosed with cancer and it’s very important to try to stay active during this time. She’s really looking forward to starting these classes at The Haven and would like to emphasise that all visitors of the Haven are welcome, participants can take as many breaks as they need, or can even come to just watch the class, we’d really love to have you there, so just give it a go!
