I’m Sarah, Director and Founder of Sashay Dance, where we bring a burst of fun and a swirl of excitement to hen parties, birthdays and corporate events across the UK. Dive into our world of 20 fabulous themes, spanning from the enchanting Disney, and the energetic Spice Girls, to Line Dancing, Barbie and even the chance to create your own unique theme. No worries if you think you have two left feet – our classes are crafted for everyone to have the time of their lives!
My own dance adventure started when I was just 6 years old, thanks to my grandparents and their love for Latin and Ballroom dancing. It was more than just a hobby and it became a passion that stuck. My childhood was spent dancing in competitions at Blackpool Winter Gardens and wearing all the lovely glitzy coloured dresses. My favourite dances are the Rumba and Salsa. I started teaching dance in 2012 and became a qualified UKA Dance Teacher in 2015.
In sod’s law fashion, I got mugged after teaching my first dance class as a qualified Salsa teacher. I was left with a bad concussion, had PTSD, and then quit my job as dancing was the only thing I could concentrate on. I followed my dreams and set up Sashay Dance in July 2016. I had some amazing treatment, there was no stopping me after this and made Sashay Dance national across the UK.
We’ve built a fantastic team of Dance Teachers across the UK, all united by a shared passion for dance. We use local teachers for our classes ensuring we are as sustainable as possible . We’re here to ensure that every class is a hit and packed with fun! Before my Sashay Dance days, I was an award-winning PA in events, so I know firsthand how a timely response can make a world of difference. That’s why we’re committed to getting back to all inquiries at lightning speed, taking the stress off the event organisers.
I am very lucky to have created this wonderful job and although it takes a lot of work the mission created really does make it all worthwhile.
