Hen Do Face Masks | Personalised Groom Masks & Where to Buy

Q: What are hen do face masks?

Photo cut-out masks, usually printed with the groom's face, worn or held on sticks by the whole hen group for photos, games and one unforgettable reveal. They cost from around £1 each and pack flat in any suitcase.

Q: Where can you get personalised face masks for a hen do?

UK specialists like UK Party Masks print hen masks from any photo with next day delivery, and Etsy's made-to-order sellers offer the widest range of groom and celebrity styles. Order two weeks ahead where possible and choose card over paper.

Q: How do you make DIY hen party face masks?

Print a clear front-facing photo on A4 card, cut around the face, and tape a wooden stick to the back. Printing several different expressions and one wildcard face, like the family dog, makes the photos even better.

Q: What games can you play with groom masks?

The group reveal, a spot-the-photo era guessing game, a forfeit round of Mr & Mrs, a themed group photo series and a masked finale to a group dance routine. The bride's reaction to the reveal is the clip you will replay for years.

Q: Do face masks work for a classy hen do?

Brilliantly, they are a two-minute photo moment rather than an all-day costume, so they raise the biggest laugh of a spa weekend or afternoon tea and then disappear back into the bag. Card versions look far better in photos than paper.

Welcome to the silliest tradition in hen party history: twenty women wearing the groom’s face. Hen do face masks, photo cut-outs of the groom (or the bride, or the family dog) on sticks or elastic, cost pennies, weigh nothing in a suitcase, and produce the single funniest photo of the entire weekend, every time, without fail. We’ve turned up to a lot of hen parties, 2,500 and counting over ten years, and no prop gets a bigger laugh at the reveal. Not one. So: what to buy, the personalised options, the DIY version, and the games that stretch a £1 prop into a solid hour of entertainment.

Why Groom Face Masks Work Every Time

The comedy is in the multiplication. One person holding the groom’s face: mildly funny. Fifteen grooms simultaneously ordering cocktails, doing a dance routine and singing happy birthday to a confused stranger: cinema. The bride’s reaction to being suddenly surrounded by her future husband is the moment you’ll want filmed, so brief someone before the reveal. They’re also the rare prop that works for every kind of hen, the classy spa weekend and the big night out alike, because they go back in the bag the second the joke has landed.

Personalised Face Masks: Where to Buy in the UK

Personalised face masks for a hen do are made to order: upload a clear, front-facing photo (raid his mum’s Facebook for maximum effect) and they arrive pre-cut on card with sticks or elastic. Three UK routes worth knowing. UK Party Masks specialise in exactly this, hen do masks of groom printed from your photo with elastics fitted and genuine next day delivery, the saviour of every last-minute organiser. Etsy’s groom mask makers print from any photo with the widest style choice, and the broader personalised photo masks listings cover celebrity faces too, if you want to mix the bride’s teenage crush in among the grooms. Order two weeks ahead when you can, choose card over paper (they survive the weekend), and get one per hen plus spares, someone always sits on theirs.

Making Your Own for Pennies

The DIY version is an easy craft night job: print the photo A4 on card (or laminate paper prints), cut around the face, tape a wooden stick or bamboo skewer to the back, done. Cost: about £1 a mask. Pro moves from hens who’ve gone before: print several different expressions of the groom for variety, add one wildcard face (her dad, her celebrity crush, the dog), and make a spare set, because they will get danced on.

Games to Play With Them

The best hen party masks earn their place through the games, and these five never miss:

The reveal: everyone masks up while the bride’s distracted, then turns around in unison. Film it.
Spot the real photo: mix in old photos of the groom, bride guesses which era each is from.
Mr & Mrs, upgraded: wrong answer in the quiz means the bride wears the groom mask for the next round.
The group photo series: grooms doing afternoon tea, grooms at the spa, grooms on the dance floor. The wedding slideshow writes itself.
Dance floor cameo: the whole group performing a routine behind groom masks is, in our professional opinion, the greatest hen party video that exists.

The Masks-On Moment She’ll Never Forget

That last game deserves a proper stage. Plenty of groups save the hen do masks for the finale of their hen party dance class, learning the routine to her favourite songs first, then performing the final run-through as a sea of grooms while she watches from the front. We come to your house or venue anywhere in the UK with the speaker, the music and the moves, the bride dances free, and yes, we will absolutely film it.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had an amazing time with Stef in York learning our Texas Hold 'Em dance routine for my friend's hen party! It was such a great experience for everybody regardless of dancing ability and Stef made it so fun. She was very warm and welcoming, and broke everything down so well. We had such a laugh and can't wait to perform our routine at the wedding! The whole booking process was also really straightforward. Highly recommend.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What a brilliant experience! Really enjoyed this on my best friends hen do! We did the line dancing to songs of our choice and it was excellent - the dance teacher Emily was amazing teaching all 20 of us (not easy work!) and we picked up the routine easily! Fantastic activity for a group of girls and gets the laughs going. The communication was great throughout the booking and organising process, which is what you need when planning a hen :) thank you again!!

I booked Sashay Dance for a hen party back in June and the dance class was AMAZING!! Clare our instructor was great, she was super fun and made us feel so comfortable and just supported us the whole way through.

The bride was so happy and the rest of girls loved it! Such great fun and made the hen weekend so memorable.

The team at Sashay was so supportive throughout the lead up to the hen party and the communication was great.

I’m so happy I booked Sashay Dance and would 100% recommend to anyone thinking about it. Thank you!

We had the best time at our ABBA medley dance class as part of our Hen Weekend. Everything was brilliantly organised by Sarah, she even found a venue for us making the whole experience completely stress-free and relaxed from start to finish. Tasha, our dance instructor, was absolutely fantastic — full of energy, fun and encouragement, and she made everyone feel amazing no matter their dancing ability….very limited in most cases!
The routines was fun, the music was amazing, and we were all singing and dancing along the whole time. Such a memorable part of the hen weekend and we’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for something different, entertaining and guaranteed to get everyone on their feet and having a great time! Our ‘half past 12’ dance pose became the go to move of the weekend! Thankyou Sasha Dance!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had an amazing line dancing party for a surprise 60th birthday. Easy to arrange and really accommodating when I had to change the timings a couple of times. Our teacher, Emma, was brilliant and kept us all going and included. Even the guests who were definitely not going to dance joined in! A great afternoon, highly recommended.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We booked a private line dance class for a hen party and it was honestly one of the highlights of the whole celebration! Leah was an amazing teacher – she made everyone feel comfortable straight away and kept the energy high from start to finish. The class was so much fun, full of laughs, and perfect for all ability levels.

Everyone had a fantastic time and couldn’t stop talking about it afterwards. I would highly recommend this for any hen party or social event – we’ll definitely be booking again in the future!

The afternoon was full of laughter! Natalie did a great job of teaching us (all of very different ages and abilities), whilst still keeping it super fun! A great way for everyone to really get to know each other, we didn't stop laughing and dancing.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Such a fab experience for a hen party! We did the abba dance class and everyone had such a fun time - the choreography was positioned just at the right level for a group of amateurs (other than the bride to be!). And our teacher Emma was brilliant and really encouraging. Would thoroughly recommend this even if you have two left feet!
