A dance class for The Haven breast cancer charity

We had a groovy morning on Sunday 15th October at The Pink Flashdance event at Yorkshire Dance.  This event was held to raise money for The Haven in Yorkshire which supports people affected by breast cancer and a special event for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  A total of £650 was raised for The Haven which gave us even more to dance about!

Sarah Hough, Director and Founder of Sashay Dance, teaches weekly classes every Friday 3-4pm at The Haven in Leeds and started the event with a Salsa dance lesson.  Her classes are always suitable for all, 2 left feet friendly, fun and no partner is required.  It was great to see everyone joining in and having fun, Grandmas, children, husbands, you name it everyone was dancing.   For more information about the dance classes at The Haven please follow this link.

This was then followed by 3 more fantastic dance companies teaching Street Dance, Indian Dance and the Charleston.  People recouped energy by snacking on the delicious cake available between classes.   After 2 hours of dancing the event closed with everyone taking part in the big Pink Flashdance led by the Deana Morgan Academy.  It was such a fantastic, funky event and we are delighted to have been asked to be part of it.
